The photos on this page are scans from a very small plant growing at the base of the large Catalpa at P21. I'm not sure that it's cathartica. The veins, leaf margins and dull, dark green on top look like Common buckthorn, but the sharp tip at the end of the leaf looks more like the shape of the Glossy buckthorn, to me. But this is the first buckthorn I've ever examined, too bad there were no berries.
