Photos below are from a shrub row in an apartment complex in Naperville. I believe that these are Juniperus chinensis.

 

Photos below are of 5 trees at the Morton Arboretum tree with tag confirming Juniperus chinensis. These trees were entered into the Arb database in 1924, and listed as "plants" at that time.

Pictures show bark, awl leaves, scale leaves and pollen buds. All photos were taken on February 19, 2011. Trees are in Japan in the BB-59 area. I didn't see any Juniper "berries" on these trees.
